What are the responsibilities and job description for the Seasonal Parks & Recreation Worker - Recreation & Senior Center Assistant/Floater (Weekends) position at Chesterfield County?
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or GED preferred; some experience assisting with recreation activities for various populations preferred; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Good oral and written communication, interpersonal and customer service skills are necessary. Ability to work a flexible schedule. Pre-employment drug testing, FBI criminal background check and education/degree verification required.
Duties
This position provides an opportunity to work in multiple recreation centers and satellite locations as needed to provide support to staff and customers. Ideal candidate is flexible with hours and work location and has outstanding customer service skills. Those candidates with verbal and written fluency in both English and Spanish are encouraged to apply. Work locations will vary by need to include Chesterfield Baptist Senior Center and the Bensley, Beulah, Ettrick and Stonebridge Recreation Centers. These locations offer a wide range of programs and special events to customers of all ages. This position assists with programs and related activities. Tasks include organizing, maintaining, and distributing supplies and equipment; working with community volunteers and civic groups; answering phones and other clerical duties; daily set up and break down of tables and chairs; processing registrations and rentals; providing customer service to visitors and facility users; and monitoring weekend rentals. Perform other work as required.
Shift
Weekends only; scheduled hours and work location are dependent upon department need; includes day and evening hours on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
