What are the responsibilities and job description for the Automation Coordinator position at Chesterfield County?
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in information systems, computer science, business administration or a related field; five years of experience in the implementation and support of business information systems to include two years of supervisory experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Considerable knowledge of concepts of microcomputer technology and related software; of principles of office automation systems. Ability to analyze complex business problems for potential automation solutions; to manage complex automation projects; to document processes and procedures and develop user documentation; to communicate effectively orally and in writing; to operate a personal computer and related software and other standard office equipment; to develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external customers; to supervise technical and non-technical staff. Pre-employment drug testing, FBI criminal background check and education/degree verification required.
Duties
Staff training, supervision, and evaluation; supervision and administration of the Utilities Help Desk team; oversees departmental business information systems including security, maintenance and upgrade, troubleshooting software or hardware problems, developing processes and creating user documentation; develops departmental technology and process automation policies and procedures, and monitors work activities to ensure compliance with established policies and procedures; acts as technical consultant to department management in identifying and analyzing automation needs and developing solutions to complex business problems; serves as technical liaison between the department, vendors, contractors and the IT Department; assist in administering the Technology Master plan; participates in the preparation and administration of assigned department budget. Performs other work as required.
