High school diploma or GED; college coursework in business administration or a related field preferred; at least three years of customer service experience; one year of experience in a supervisory or lead capacity preferred; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Required Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
Considerable knowledge of basic laws, regulations and codes relating to the functions of the Treasurer’s Office. Ability to explain and apply laws, rules, and regulations pertaining to the legal functions of the Treasurer’s Office; to communicate effectively with a wide range of individuals under a variety of circumstances; to prepare and maintain clear and accurate records, reports and correspondence; to establish and maintain cooperative relationships with taxpayers, the public, staff, and others contacted in the course of work; to manage telephone operations using an automated call monitoring system; to communicate effectively orally and in writing; to operate a personal computer and related software and other standard office equipment; to develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external customers; to supervise, train, and evaluate the work of staff. Examples Of Work
- Assist Revenue Collection Supervisor with daily operations of the Telephone area including ensuring adequate staffing is in place and serve as a backup in their absence.
- Answer incoming calls from taxpayers and assist with resolution of taxpayer inquiries.
- Serve as a resource and subject matter expert to staff in the area.
- Provide responses to emails received in the Treasurer’s Office public email box including forwarding emails to appropriate departments or individuals.
- Ensure distribution/preparation of tax payments mailed to the office for processing.
- Perform research as necessary to assist in resolution of taxpayer inquiries.
- Ensure distribution/processing of mortgage company coding changes to individual bills as notified by the taxpayer or mortgage company.
- Perform other work as required.
