Minimum Qualifications
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Considerable knowledge of basic laws, regulations and codes relating to the functions of the Treasurer’s Office. Ability to explain and apply laws, rules, and regulations pertaining to the legal functions of the Treasurer’s Office. To communicate effectively with a wide range of individuals under a variety of circumstances; to prepare and maintain clear and accurate records, reports and correspondence; to establish and maintain cooperative relationships with taxpayers, the public, staff, and others contacted in the course of work; to manage telephone operations using an automated call monitoring system; to communicate effectively orally and in writing; to operate a personal computer and related software and other standard office equipment; to develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external customers; to supervise, train, and evaluate the work of staff.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or GED; four years of responsible experience in collecting delinquent accounts to include one year of experience in a supervisory or lead capacity; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Pre-employment drug testing, FBI criminal background check and education/degree verification required.
Duties
Under general supervision, perform work of considerable difficulty in supervising and participating in the more difficult and complex administrative, operational, and customer service work assigned to call center / collection services. This role involves both supervisory responsibilities and hands-on participation requiring significant expertise and judgment.
EXAMPLES OF WORK:
- Supervise and coordinate the daily operation of the call center to include planning, implementing, and monitoring strategies to maximize utilization of resources, handling more difficult or complex activities or escalated customer service issues, and monitoring service quality
- Interpret, monitor, and ensure compliance with laws, regulations, policies, procedures or processes, ordinances and codes pertaining to the Treasurer’s Office
- Confer with manager regarding any legal actions advised, under consideration, planned or in process, and take actions as directed
- Compose, prepare or generate a variety of call center related information, statistics, correspondence, forms, sensitive or legal documents, reports and notices
- Manage the mortgage company listing payment processes
- Process real estate and personal property address changes and research new addresses for refund checks and real estate assessment notices returned by the post office
- Manage and respond to inquiries received through the Treasurer’s Office public email account, including routing messages to appropriate departments or personnel as needed
- Oversee and coordinate research for unidentified check payments and previously paid bills
- Review and verify billing information before mail distribution
- Perform other work as required.
