Part-Time: Monday-Friday, 6.5 hours a day (8 AM - 3 PM); 185 days per year (186 days year one)

Summary
Instructional Assistants will be responsible for assisting in the implementation of a basic skills program or educational programing and performing duties as directed by the educational specialist or classroom teacher.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Individual tutoring or one-on-one support for a student with special needs
- Assistance progress monitoring of students, including behavior charts & data
- Assisting classroom teacher with any assigned duties, including classroom and material prep
- Attending specials with assigned class of students or individual student
- Transporting students to and from lavatories, nurse, admin offices, etc.
- Assisting with arrival and dismissal as it relates to transportation
- Assistance with daily hygeine of students, including diapering and toileting; Lifting may be required
- Physical intervention with students in crisis required
- Provide a safe, welcoming environment for all students
- Any other duties as assigned by the Principal
- Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Associates degree or higher OR completion of two years of post-secondary education OR 48 credit hours from an accredited college or university preferred
- Experience with special needs population preferred
- Experience working with students with severe/complex behavioral/emotional issues preferred
- Professional Certifications
- CPR/First Aid certification preferred (Ability to maintain provided by CCIU upon hire)

- Step 2: 0 - 9 yrs experience = $18.72
- Step 3: 10 - 13 yrs experience = $20.57
- Step 4: 14 - 17 yrs experience = $22.41
- Step 5: 18 - 25 yrs experience = $24.26
- *Bachelor's degree is equivalent to 9 yrs experience on the scale: Step 2
- *Master's degree is equivalent to 15 yrs experience on the scale: Step 4

- Board paid Worker's Compensation
- New employees are granted 2 personal days annually in addition to pro-rated sick leave based upon FTE; unlimited accumulation on sick days
