At the present time a vacancy exist for a part-time Instructional Assistant in an Emotional Support classroom. This position is within the Student Services division of the Chester County Intermediate Unit, located in Coatesville, PA. This position is benefits-eligible.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required
• Associates degree or higher OR completion of two years of post-secondary education OR 48 credit hours from an accredited college or university preferred
• Experience with special needs population preferred
• Experience working with students with severe/complex behavioral/emotional issues preferred
• CPR/First Aid certification preferred
• Current police, child abuse, and FBI fingerprint clearances required
  
  

Duties & Responsibilities

• Applicants will be responsible for assisting in the implementation of a basic skills program or educational programing and performing duties as directed by the educational consultant or classroom teacher. Duties may include individual tutoring or one-on-one support for a student with special needs. Some lifting may be required. Applicants must have the ability to work independently and as a member of a team in an educational setting. Physical intervention with students in crisis will be required.

Hourly Rate (2025 - 2026)

• 0 - 9 yrs experience = $18.72
• 10 - 13 yrs experience = $20.53
• 14 - 17 yrs experience= $22.41
• 18 - 25 yrs experience= $24.26
• * Bachelors degree is equivalent to 9 yrs experience on the scale= $18.72
• * Master's degree is equivalent to 15 yrs experience on the scale = $22.41
