Summary

The Head Start Supervisor of Education performs a variety of duties designed to support the education of Head Start eligible students between ages 3-5 through curriculum oversight, teacher training and development, and federal grant compliance. Supervisor is responsible for immediate supervision of assigned staff in Head Start classrooms countywide, and as well as implementation of Head Start Program Performance Standards.

Essential Job Responsibilities

• Responsible for immediate supervision of assigned staff located throughout Chester County, relative to both CCIU and Office of Head Start policies and procedures
• Responsible for the disabilities component of the program, including referrals and screenings, in collaboration with Preschool Special Education
• Develop positive relationships with families enrolled in the program, assisting with family needs and addressing any family concerns that arise
• Supervise and evaluate education staff with regard to educational and administrative planning including provision of feedback that leads to positive change in performance
• Oversee daily dismissal of students, ensuring safe processes are maintained, staff and parents follow procedures, and students are properly supervised
• Interact with the Policy Council at monthly meetings, substituting for the Director when needed
• Oversee assigned staff compliance with CCIU and Head Start Personnel Policies and Procedures
• Make recommendations regarding staff professional development needs; provide or arrange for training in collaboration with Head Start Supervisor and Coaching team
• With the Data Specialist, oversee assigned staff completion of education and family data tracking
• Assist in creation of budgets, grant applications, and community partnerships to grow the Head Start program
• Recommend purchase of equipment, supplies and materials based on classroom needs as identified by ECERS, curriculum, safety reviews, and observations
• Assist all content area specialists in refining, clarifying, implementing, and updating service plans to ensure continuity and consistency of programming
• Assist in recruitment of eligible families
• Coordinate classroom coverage as needed
  
  

Qualifications

Education & Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Education or closely related field required
• Previous supervisory experience strongly preferred
• Knowledge of operating grants strongly preferred
  
  

Professional Or Other Required Clearances

• Valid Driver's License & reliable transportation required
• Current police, child abuse, and FBI fingerprint clearances within 1 year required
  
  

Anticipated Salary Range

2025-2026: Project, Level 15, $75,349 - $94,187/yr.

2026-2027: Project, Level 15, $77,987 - $97,483/yr.

• Placement on band is based on years of direct experience in a comparable role. 260 day position, 7.5 hours per day, 5 days per week
