Company Description Cheshire Fitness Zone Pediatric Therapy (CFZ) is a specialized pediatric practice designed for children and adolescents of all ages and abilities. The clinic offers physical, occupational, speech, feeding, and aquatic therapy in dedicated spaces tailored to children, including a pediatric-focused PT gym with a rock climbing wall, baby-friendly room, and private treatment rooms. OT services are supported by sensory gyms and fine motor rooms, while speech therapy occurs in multiple individualized treatment spaces. Each treatment plan is customized to the needs of the child, and the team brings decades of experience working exclusively with pediatric populations to promote functional independence and meaningful progress.
Role Description This is a full time, on-site Pediatric Physical Therapist role based in Cheshire, CT. The Pediatric Physical Therapist will evaluate and treat children and adolescents with a range of diagnoses to improve strength, mobility, balance, coordination, and functional independence. Daily responsibilities include performing comprehensive pediatric PT evaluations, developing and implementing individualized treatment plans, and documenting progress in accordance with clinic and regulatory standards. The role involves collaborating closely with families and caregivers to provide education, home exercise programs, and ongoing progress updates. The therapist will also work as part of an interdisciplinary team with OT, speech, feeding, and aquatic therapy providers to support integrated care and optimal outcomes.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated expertise in Pediatric Physical Therapy and Physical Therapy, including assessment and intervention for children and adolescents.
- Foundational knowledge of Medicine and Pediatrics relevant to pediatric movement disorders, developmental conditions, and musculoskeletal/neuromuscular diagnoses.
- Strong background in Rehabilitation, with experience designing functional, play-based treatment plans and progression strategies for pediatric clients.
- Current state licensure (or eligibility) as a Physical Therapist in Connecticut; Doctorate or Master’s degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
- Experience in pediatric outpatient, school-based, or similar settings is highly preferred; new graduates with strong pediatric clinical rotations are welcome to apply.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working with children, families, caregivers, and interdisciplinary team members.
- Ability to safely assist children with mobility, transfers, and therapeutic activities in a dynamic gym environment, including use of equipment such as rock walls and therapy swings.
