Responsibilities
- Maintain cleanliness of kennels, cages, and common areas through regular sanitization and thorough cleaning procedures
- Handle animals safely using proper techniques and animal handling skills to ensure their comfort and safety
- Monitor animal behavior for signs of stress or illness and report any concerns promptly to veterinary staff or supervisors
- Assist with pet boarding and outdoor exercise routines to promote physical activity and mental stimulation
- Ensure compliance with health and safety standards by adhering to sanitation protocols and facility guidelines
Skills
- Prior veterinary or kennel experience is highly valued
- Experience with pet sitting, dog boarding, or animal behavior management enhances your ability to connect with animals effectively
- Strong animal handling skills including animal restraint and pet care techniques
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely during kennel cleaning or equipment setup
- Excellent customer service skills to communicate positively with pet owners and visitors
- Outdoor work experience is beneficial for outdoor exercise routines
- Familiarity with pet boarding procedures, facility sanitization, and pet care facility safety standards
