Summary

Chesapeake Lighting, the preeminent lighting representative in the Baltimore/Washington, DC market, is seeking a Commercial Lighting Estimator to join our dynamic and collaborative team.

The ideal candidate is a quick and adaptive learner with exceptional customer service and communication skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to organize, prioritize, and work independently. A successful candidate will be comfortable managing multiple projects, reviewing technical information, and adapting to changing project requirements in a fast-paced environment.

Core Responsibilities

• Review takeoffs from distributor customers or project schedules required for a quotation.
• Review plans including architectural drawings, electrical drawings, and lighting specifications for quotations.
• Calculate material costs and profit margins to create accurate quotes.
• Interact with manufacturers, factory sales reps, and suppliers to get competitive pricing.
• Communicate clearly and consistently with distributor customers; follow-up, address customer questions related to projects and adapt to specification changes or updates.
• Partner with outside sales reps, project managers, and other internal personal to deliver timely bids.

Preferred Qualifications & Skills

• Preferred 1 to 3 years' experience in customer service, electrical or lighting estimating.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with digital takeoffs of software like but not limited to Bluebeam.
• Strong Math skills, acute attention to detail, and good verbal communication.
