What are the responsibilities and job description for the RN, Clinical Navigator position at Chesapeake Hospital Authority?
The Clinical Navigator acts as an advocate to assist patients in navigating throughout internal and external systems in order to facilitate the diagnosis and treatment process. Applies the nursing process through assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of the ptient in order to provide the optimal level of patient care.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Exhibits excellent customer relations to patients, visitors, physicians, and co-workers.

- Works closely with the team and physicians when performing interventional procedures
- Works as a member of a quality team to continuously improve quality outcomes within the breast imaging. Supports radiology services by providing optimal patient care as allowable to Special Procedure, and the other multiple radiology services, as needed; CT, MRI, Diagnostic, Ultrasound, and Mammography. Additionally, responds to emergencies, hard sticks and contrast reactions within the department when not caring for a patient.

Education and Experience
Minimum Required Education: Registered Nurse licensed by the Virginia Board of Nursing OR licensure with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), with advanced registry in Mammography.
Preferred Education: Associate's degree in a healthcare field with courses in Medical/Healthcare Terminology.
Experience: Must have at least 5 years of nursing experience or 5 years of breast imaging experience.
Certificates, Licenses, Registration
BLS required.
Certification in clinical breast examinations must be obtained within 1 year.
