Chesapeake Commons HOA is a vibrant and thriving residential community dedicated to fostering a positive living environment for its residents. We are seeking a dedicated, responsible, and experienced Community Association Manager to join our team part-time. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, proactive, and able to effectively communicate with community members, vendors, and board members.
Position Overview:
As a Community Association Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our community, ensuring that all aspects of community management run smoothly. This position requires a part-time commitment of 25 hours per week, with a mix of flexible remote work and some onsite duties, including periodic training sessions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Community Relations: Act as the primary point of contact for residents, addressing their concerns, inquiries, and requests in a timely and professional manner.
- Board Liaison: Serve as the liaison between the Board of Directors and community residents. Attend quarterly board meetings in person and provide updates on operational matters.
- Vendor Management: Oversee contracts with service providers (landscaping, janitorial, maintenance, etc.), ensuring compliance with agreed-upon terms and quality standards.
- Budget Management: Assist the Board with budget planning, monitoring expenses, and managing accounts payable and receivable.
- Maintenance and Operations: Coordinate routine and emergency maintenance and ensure common areas are well-maintained and meet safety standards.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with governing documents (e.g., CC&Rs, bylaws, rules & regulations) and follow up on violations as needed.
- Training & Development: Participate in periodic training to stay updated on community management best practices, legal regulations, and industry standards.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in community association management or a related field.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact professionally with residents, vendors, and board members.
- Highly organized, with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
- Knowledge of general property management and maintenance practices.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and experience with community management software is a plus.
- A high level of professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Skills:
- Certification in Community Association Management (e.g., CMCA, AMS, or PCAM) is a plus and will be required during the first 90 days of employment
- Familiarity with residential community governing documents (CC&Rs, bylaws) and legal compliance issues
- Experience with RACI charts a plus but not required
- Experience with HOA management software a plus but not required
- Microsoft Office experience required
- Experience working with volunteer boards
