JOB SUMMARY
The Sustainable Landscapes Maintenance Foreman will lead and work alongside a maintenance crew of 2 to 3 people to ensure that everyone is working safely, skillfully and efficiently. The foreman is required to be adept in delivering high-quality maintenance, managing time effectively, and proficiently utilizing all necessary equipment and machinery to achieve superior maintenance results. Responsibilities include maintaining and caring for outdoor landscapes and sustainable garden beds which encompasses, but is not limited to: tending to plants and other beds, mowing, trimming weeds, hand-pulling weeds, edging, blowing, spraying, pruning, removing debris, and conducting initial cleaning tasks. The ideal candidate should demonstrate exceptional communication abilities, possess a robust background in crew supervision, and have a comprehensive understanding of all facets of landscape and turf maintenance. Proficiency in both English and Spanish is advantageous, and a valid Florida driver's license is required.
JOB FUNCTIONS
Coordinate equipment, tools, and materials for assigned job sites.
•
Communicate, train and mentor members of the landscape maintenance team.
•
Ensure compliance with safety regulations, promote a safe working environment for all customers and crew members while preparing for and working in the field.
•
Maintain and care for established landscapes by mulching, aerating, weeding, grubbing, removing thatch, or trimming or edging around flower beds, walks or walls.
•
Ensure that all equipment is operated safely and properly. Equipment includes, but is not limited to, trucks, trailers, stand and sit-down mowers, weed trimmers, edgers, blowers, etc.
•
Communicate with upper management regarding supplies and tools needed, broken equipment, and/or any concerns with properties and/or team members.
•
Ensure that end of day clean up is assigned and completed for all job sites, trucks, trailers, and equipment.
•
Identify insect and disease issues and report to the manager.
•
Maintain or repair irrigation systems. Handle basic irrigation tasks such as setting and checking clocks.
•
Direct fertilizer and pesticide applications.
•
Monitor crew productivity, work quality, and adherence to safety standards.
•
Prune or trim trees, shrubs, or hedges, using shears, pruners, or chainsaws.
•
Plant seeds, bulbs, foliage, flowering plants, grass, ground covers, trees, or shrubs and apply mulch for protection, using gardening tools.
•
Perform minor repairs and maintenance procedures on equipment utilized in groundskeeping.
•
All other duties assigned for landscape maintenance
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Excellent communication skills, working knowledge of all aspects of landscape and turn maintenance.

Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
•
Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred but not required.
•
High priority on quality and goal orientations.
•
Provide quality landscape maintenance and exceptional follow-up skills.
•
High school or higher level education is preferred.
•
Must be dependable and hard working.
•
Working knowledge of all types of landscaping equipment.
•
Able to work in ever changing weather conditions.
•
Ability to read and follow directions.
Physical Demands
Grounds maintenance work is done outdoors in all kinds of weather. The work can be repetitive and physically demanding, requiring frequent bending, lifting, and shoveling. Employee is regularly required to stand; walk; crouch; stoop or kneel. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Job Site Conditions
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, outside weather (heat or cold), and moving mechanical equipment.
REQUIRED LICENSES / HOURS OF WORK
Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 40 hours per work week. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, outside weather (heat or cold), and moving mechanical equipment. In addition, job sites are located on both residential and commercial property. Manual dexterity and fine motor skills to effectively use small hand tools, equipment. Requires sitting, standing, bending and walking for long periods of time during the day and night. Repetitive lifting of up to 50 lbs.
