Job Summary
We are seeking a highly organized and compassionate Patient Care Coordinator to join our healthcare team. This role involves managing patient interactions, coordinating appointments, and ensuring accurate documentation within our electronic health record (EHR) systems. The ideal candidate will possess strong dental administrative skills, a solid understanding of dental terminology, and exceptional customer service abilities to support both patients and clinical staff effectively.
Duties
- Greet patients and manage front desk operations with professionalism and courtesy, utilizing multi-line phone systems and phone etiquette.
- Schedule, confirm, and reschedule patient appointments using Dentrix.
- Verify insurance coverage and perform insurance verification procedures to facilitate billing processes.
- Collect patient payments and perform billing tasks related to dental collection and documentation review.
- Maintain accurate medical records, including intake forms, care plans, and documentation review for compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Assist with dental coding using CDT codes for billing purposes while ensuring proper documentation for Medicare and other insurance providers.
- Support clinic operations by managing patient files, filing documents, and handling administrative tasks such as data entry with proficiency in Microsoft Office and 10 key typing.
- Collaborate with clinical staff to facilitate smooth patient flow and ensure efficient office management.
- Maintain confidentiality of protected health information (PHI) in accordance with HIPAA standards.
- Provide excellent patient service by addressing inquiries professionally and maintaining high standards of office support.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in a dental office setting or clinic environment is preferred.
- Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Dentrix.
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, CDT coding and billing procedures.
- Familiarity with health information management practices including documentation review and insurance verification.
- Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite; experience with dental software like Dentrix.
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Bilingual abilities are highly desirable to serve diverse patient populations effectively.
- Strong communication skills with professional phone etiquette and clerical experience in front desk or office management roles.
