Project Accountant (Unanet)

Cherry Bekaert is seeking a Project Accountant with experience in the government contracting industry. This role will manage project-level accounting functions, ensure compliance with federal regulations, and support financial operations across multiple contract types.

Key Responsibilities:

• Handle journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Manage billing for T&M, Cost Plus, and Fixed Price contracts.
• Oversee collections and revenue recognition processes.
• Ensure compliance with FAR and DFAR requirements.
• Provide audit support and assist with internal/external audits.
• Support budgeting and forecasting activities.
• Collaborate with project managers and finance teams to ensure accurate financial reporting.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (required).
• Minimum 4 years of accounting experience in government contracting (required).
• Proficiency in Unanet (required).
• Strong understanding of FAR and DFAR compliance.
• Experience with billing for multiple contract types (T&M, Cost Plus, Fixed Price).
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
