Job Summary:
Inspects construction projects for compliance with plans, specifications, dimensional and alignment accuracy, and conformance with applicable rules, regulations, and guidelines.
Job Duties:
Coordinates/verifies schedules with contractor and regulatory agencies. Measures distances to verify accuracy of dimensions of structural installations and layouts. Verifies levels, alignment, depth, and elevation of installations. Observes work in progress to ensure that procedures followed and materials used conform to specifications and comply with applicable rules, regulations, and funding guidelines. Prepares samples of unapproved materials for laboratory testing. Examines workmanship of finished installations for conformity to standards and approves installations. Interprets plans and specifications for contractor and discusses deviations from specified construction procedures to ensure compliance with regulations governing construction. Records quantities of materials received or used during specified periods. Maintains daily log of construction and inspection activities and compares progress reports. Other duties may be assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
Qualifications:
EDUCATION REQUIREMENT
Associate's degree from 2-year college or technical school; or two years (60 credit hours) coursework from 4-year college or university; or three years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT
An additional two (2) years related experience is required.

COMPUTER SKILLS
An individual should have knowledge of Internet, Spreadsheet, and Word Processing software.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Must possess a valid driver's license with a driving history verified through a motor vehicle report that meets requirements for Cherokee Nation underwriting rating.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Must have good mathematical skills.

Employee must not and will not be under sanction by the United States Department of Health and Human Services Office of the Inspector General (OIG) or by the General Services Administration (GSA) or listed on the OIG’s Cumulative Sanction Report, or the GSA’s List of Excluded Providers, or listed on the OIG’s List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE).


PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk. The employee is frequently required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to taste or smell. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.


WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions. The employee is frequently exposed to extreme cold and extreme heat. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
