Job Summary:
Assists in expediting the needs of the Supervisor, Registration. Ensures Federal regulations for Citizenship cards are followed. Reviews all submitted documentation for accurate data/facts for certification purposes. Writes, types, and/or enters information into computer to prepare correspondences or other documents. Files and retrieves applications and records in accordance with established procedures and filing system.
Job Duties:
Assists and trains clerical support. Provides decision making and assistance in expediting the needs of the Supervisor, Registration. Ensures Tribal regulations for issuance of Citizenship cards are followed. Reviews all submitted documentation for accurate data/facts for certification purposes. Writes, types, and/or enters information into computer to prepare correspondences or other documents. Performs routine clerical and typing tasks involved in processing varied office materials such as form letters, requisitions, and envelopes. Scans documents and attaches to the appropriate record in the Regisration database. Opens postal mail, stamps received date and routes to appropriate staff member. Files and retrieves applications and records in accordance with established procedures and filing systems; researches lost or missing applications or records in accordance with established procedures. Builds a graphical representation (family tree) of the client's ancestry based on their CDIB in the Registraton database. Researches lost or missing appliations or records in accordance with established procedures. Greets callers and assists them with CDIB questions. Answers telephone; refers calls or takes accurate and complete messages. Operates copier, fax machines or other office equipment. All other duties as assigned. Other duties may be assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
No supervisory responsibilities.
Qualifications:
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT
High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
At least two (2) years experience in a related field.
COMPUTER SKILLS
An individual should have knowledge of Database, Internet, Spreadsheet, and Word Processing software.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
A valid driver's license with a driving history verified through a motor vehicle report that meets requirements for Cherokee Nation underwriting rating may be required by the department.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
Employee must not and will not be under sanction by the United States Department of Health and Human Services Office of the Inspector General (OIG) or by the General Services Administration (GSA) or listed on the OIG’s Cumulative Sanction Report, or the GSA’s List of Excluded Providers, or listed on the OIG’s List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE).
Knowledge of basic office machines.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is frequently required to talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
