Primary Purpose

JOB DESCRIPTION

As a Baker, you will be responsible for following recipes and yield guides.

Position: Full-Time, Hourly

Location: Gold Strike Casino

Responsibilities

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Prepare dishes, follow the recipe, and yield guides.
• Assist in decorating cakes and pastries.
• Maintain solid menu knowledge and attention to detail with plate presentation.
• Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of assigned work areas.
• Ensure all requisitions are processed properly and placed in the designated area.
• Properly label and date products to ensure safekeeping and sanitation.
• Set up and break down the workstation.
• Regularly runs for food and restocks all kitchen supplies and food items required for service.
• Communicate, direct, and assist management, chef, and service staff in order to fulfill and address any issues or needs requested by guests and employees.
• Perform other job-related duties as requested.
  
  

Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One (1) year of baking experience.
• Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  
  

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

• Ability to produce all aspects of bake shop including pastries, wedding cakes, and specialty items.
• Working knowledge of weights and measures.
• Knowledge of standard kitchen equipment and supplies, including, but not limited to toasters, refrigerators, coolers, slicers, beverage machines, mixers, VCR, and small wares.
• Knowledge of health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
• Able to effectively communicate in English, in both written and verbal forms.
• Excellent customer service skills and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with all business contacts.
  
  

WORKING CONDITIONS

• This role includes frequent standing and bending.
• Constant walking, reaching, balancing, and grasping items in a food preparation area.
• It also includes lifting carrying and pushing up to 50 lbs.
