Job Summary:

The Coordinator, Public Health Program provides high-level support, coordination and implementation of program deliverables. Responsible for a variety of tasks including, but not limited to, report writing, assessing, planning, coordinating, and implementing program activities and fostering relationships with program stakeholders.

Job Duties:

Responsible for the daily operations and activities associated with assigned projects and serves as the single point of responsibility for project delivery. Conducts evidence-based community, group, and individual-level interventions that support public health division goals and objectives within priority populations. Leads planning and coordination and ensures implementation of project activities with program staff community members and other key stakeholders. Develops and monitors program measure progress reporting respective to Cherokee Nation Public Health (CNPH) performance management system and/or funding guidelines and submission dates. Develops and implements program outreach, recruitment and marketing strategies to increase community/participant awareness of and access to services. Trains staff, partners, and stakeholders respective to programmatic activities including staff program meetings. Prepares a variety of reports including, but not limited to, progress reports, annual reports and internal reports, and assists in developing grant applications. Assists in conducting program evaluation and data collection activities according to monitoring, surveillance and evaluation plans and department and/or funder guidelines. Engages and fosters relationships with internal and external program stakeholders to strengthen program collaborations and partnerships. Participates in all conference calls, meetings and other program events required by funding agency and/or Cherokee Nation. Ensures formal agreements, contracts, invoices and purchase requests follow proper channels and are in accordance with the funding agency and Cherokee Nation policies/procedures. Represents Cherokee Nation Public Health at meetings of community and professional organizations. Performs other duties as assigned.


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Minimal supervisory responsibility (i.e. lead position).

Qualifications:

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT

Bachelor's degree from a 4-year college or university; or six (6) years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.


EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT

An additional two (2) years of experience in a related field. Experience in Public Health Services planning, programming, or program management preferred.


COMPUTER SKILLS

An individual should have knowledge of Database software, Internet software, Project Management software, Spreadsheet software, and Word Processing software.


CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Must possess a valid driver's license with a driving history verified through a motor vehicle report that meets the requirements for Cherokee Nation underwriting rating.


OTHER QUALIFICATIONS

The employee must not be and will not be under sanction by the United States Department of Health and Human Services Office of the Inspector General (OIG) or by the General Services Administration (GSA) or listed on the OIG's Cumulative Sanction Report, or the GSA's List of Excluded Providers, or listed on the OIG's List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE).


Must meet and maintain periodic background investigation and adjudication for childcare.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel, sit and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance, reach with hands and arms, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distant vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to correct/adjust focus.
