What are the responsibilities and job description for the Materials Handler position at Cherokee Federal?
SUMMARY
The Materials Manager will support the frontline workers that provide quality WIC Overseas services to eligible WIC Overseas participants serving overseas. The Material Manager coordinates closely with the Logistics/Security Manager to receive and ship essential supplies to the WIC Overseas offices. Technological efficiencies are incorporated into the supply system using a logistical management software application to accelerate on-time delivery, while keeping the need for warehouse personnel to a minimum. The Materiel Manager maintains strict accounting for all equipment and supplies stored in the warehouse, to include any Government-owned equipment. Overseas shipping is accomplished with the international carrier that provides the best value to the program. Personnel in this work area must have knowledge of the location of military installations overseas and any special Customs requirements. Expertise in safe and secure packing methods aimed at minimizing any shipping losses or damage is required, as is attention to detail to ensure order accuracy.
Compensation & Benefits:
Hourly pay for Material Handler: $20.00
Pay commensurate with experience.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ability to use inventory management information systems and processes
- Verifies the accuracy of quantity and quality of incoming deliveries
- Completes inventory reporting
- Proficient in international shipping and Customs requirements
- Works productively with a variety of vendors and shipping personnel
SUPERVISORY/MANAGEMENT AUTHORITY
- None
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma required; associate degree preferred
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Ability to meet strict deadlines
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Internet, and email
- Comfortable learning and using business software applications
- U.S. citizenship and current driver's license
- Ability to lift 50 lbs
- Must successfully pass a drug screen and federal background check as a condition of employment
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Work performed in a secure controlled warehouse facility
