Cherokee Federal (CFED) Internship Program
Cherokee Federal Interns will engage in a short comprehensive departmental rotation, gaining exposure to key areas such as HR, Pricing, Finance, M&A, International, Legal, Marketing, Operations, and more. This rotation provides interns with a broad understanding of the organization's functions and the various career opportunities available within Cherokee Federal.
Following the initial rotation, interns will then be fully assigned to a specific department or program that aligns with their interests, skills, and degree field. This focused assignment allows for deeper involvement, valuable contributions, and a more immersive learning experience.
Compensation & Benefits
Estimated Starting Salary Range: Pay is based on undergraduate level classification ($17 - $25/hour).
The Internship can be based in Tysons Corner, Tulsa, or San Antonio.
Pay commensurate with experience

Cherokee Federal Intern Responsibilities
- Actively participate in the Cherokee Federal department rotation and assigned department to gain a well-rounded perspective in government contracting and procurement.
- Participate and possibly lead Internship activities such as book clubs or discussion groups.
- Shadow employees to gain practical knowledge and insight into assigned department’s operations.
- Collaborate with a supportive team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Work on projects within a department and gain valuable skills.
- Shadow industry professionals to learn government contracting requirements and regulations associated with degree field.
- Perform department-specific duties to advance knowledge base of government contracting business.
- Complete a Capstone Project and present findings to Senior Leadership at the conclusion of the program.
- Perform other duties as assigned, contributing to organizational goals.
- Must be enrolled in a 4-year university, graduate program or doctoral program with a desire to continue growth and success at Cherokee Federal.
- Interest in fields related to government contracting such as Business Development, Finance, Information Technology, Marketing, Human Resources, Legal, Accounting, and Operations.
- Strong communication skills and a passion for learning.
- A team player with a problem-solving mindset and the ability to work independently as required.
Salary : $17 - $25
