What are the responsibilities and job description for the Planner position at Cherokee County?
The Planner performs a variety of advanced planning tasks including rezoning and variance applications, conduct research and prepare reports, and presents at public meetings with boards and elected officials. The planner’s experience should feature knowledge and experience in land use, economic and social issues and understanding of ARC GIS. Job Requirements:
- Any combination of education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree supplemented by a Master’s degree with experience/degrees in Planning or related field preferred.
- One (1) to two (2) years of experience in Planning or Zoning work is preferred.
- Able to obtain certification by the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) within four (4) years. Valid Georgia Driver’s License and a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
Salary Range:
- $51,112.21 to $66,445.87
