Description of Work:

Directly schedules, facilitates and documents Child Family Team (CFT) conferences and/or coordinates facilitation and conference logistics to ensure community and interagency participation in conferences.

Assist CPS, Foster Care and Adoption social workers in the identification of the target population. This position is responsible for ensuring that all foster care cases have CFT conferences on a sixty-day rotating schedule unless otherwise directed, and is responsible for balancing CFT meetings with social workers availability, assuring quality assurance of the facilitation process, and managing Family Conferencing Data. This position provides feedback to facilitators and their supervisors and works to provide up-to-date family conferencing and other related professional training/information for Family and Children’s social work staff and supervisors. This position maintains the program CFT Conference calendar and develops and maintains a Facilitator Scheduling Calendar.

This position organizes and operates a Cherokee County Parent / Caregiver/Youth Round Table.

Identify staff and/or community volunteer facilitators, ensure the required training is provided to each facilitator prior to any CFT meetings.


Special Conditions: Requires valid driver’s license, and a good driving record. Requires after hours work and on-call duties as assigned.

Minimum Training and Experience: Master's degree in social work from an accredited school of social work; or Bachelor's degree in social work from an accredited school of social work and completion of the Child Welfare Collaborative; or Bachelor's degree in social work from an accredited school of social work and one year directly related experience; or Master's degree in a human services field and one year of directly related experience; or Bachelor's degree in a human services field from an accredited college or university and two years directly related experience; or Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and three years of directly related experience. College Transcripts should be submitted with application.

Prefer completion of Child Welfare in NC Course (Pre-Service Curriculum for New Social Workers).

In the event we are unable to recruit a qualified SW III a lesser qualified applicant may be hired in a work-against status at a lower rate of pay. Salary would be based on qualifications.
