Summary
The Lead Fire Protection Engineer (FPE) will serve as the company’s primary subject matter expert on fire protection engineering. Responsibilities
- Provide technical direction and leadership for fire protection engineering designs, conducting high-level analysis, making system-wide trade-offs, and ensuring alignment with objectives, regulatory standards, and project requirements.
- Collaborate with system administrators and cybersecurity analysts to integrate security requirements into fire protection system designs and ensure compliance with UFC 3-600-01, NFPA standards, and other applicable codes.
- Perform fire hazard analyses, system design reviews, and compliance assessments, providing technical expertise during design, implementation, and testing phases.
- Develop, review, and maintain engineering documentation, including design submittals, technical reports, specifications, and risk mitigation plans.
- Represent the company by serving as the primary point of contact on fire protection engineering issues, presenting solutions, conducting training, and addressing stakeholder questions.
- Coordinate with architects, construction teams, and other engineering disciplines to ensure seamless integration of fire protection systems.
- Lead internal quality control/quality assurance initiatives for fire protection system designs.
- Support project proposals, cost estimates, and technical documentation to meet client and contractual requirements.

- Five (5) years of experience in the Fire Protection engineering field.
- Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) who has passed the fire protection engineering written examination administered by the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES).
- Relevant fire protection engineering experience, including design, implementation, and inspection of fire protection systems.
- Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Fire Protection Engineering or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience with NFPA codes, standards, and guidelines.)
- Strong understanding of fire protection engineering principles, including compliance with UFC 3-600-01 and NFPA standards.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make system-level trade-offs and decisions.
- Proficiency in project documentation and reporting, including preparation of technical documents and presentations.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to liaise effectively with project stakeholders and team members.
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, including system administrators and cybersecurity specialists.
