The Electrician shall install, repair, troubleshoot, and maintain various electrical systems, controls, and equipment. Performs a variety of electrical trade functions such as the installation, maintenance, or repair of equipment for the generation, distribution, or utilization of electric energy.
Responsibilities
- Provide preventive maintenance and inspection for all electrical systems and equipment for the facilities to include but not limited to Lighting, Electrical Systems and Generators, Motors and Engines, and Wiring.
- Install, repair or replace, modify, load, and test new and existing electrical lines, circuits, systems, fixtures, panels, switches, breakers, and controls.
- Maintain, repair or replace all interior and exterior lighting systems attached to facilities.
- Maintain, repair, or replace all secondary gear to include transformers, switchgear, circuit breaker panels, switches, receptacles, etc.
- Troubleshoot problem areas and inspects for defective equipment and faulty wiring.
- Use and maintain various types of hand and/or power tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, wire cutters, soldering irons, cable pullers, hydraulic benders, and pipe threading machines.
- Ensure equipment and systems are operated & maintained in the most economical and efficient manner, to produce the desired conditions in accordance with manufacturer’s manuals and instructions.
- Provide assembly and repair support for all electronic tasks. Tasks will include, but are not limited to the assembly, repair, and testing of surveillance cameras and preventative maintenance on most electronic components, sub-systems, and accessories. Work will include assembly of hardware, cabling, electronics, cameras, and other technically advanced components.
- Ensure work orders when complete are properly filled out and returned to work management.
- Support the project Safety Plan through personal involvement in all aspects of safety, including training and attention to the adherence to safety requirements pertaining to particular trades or skills.
- This position may be part of an emergency management/response team as required by the company to meet contract requirements.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Completion of an Electrician Apprenticeship program OR
- Formal training, completion of college or trade school
- Journeyman certificate issued by the State of Colorado
- Minimum four (4) years of experience at the Apprentice/Journeyman level
- Possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of required work ranging in a variety of maintenance and repairs and Facilities maintenance experience.
- Ability to troubleshoot Electronics, circuit boards, relays, and general electrical systems.
- Ability to read schematics and blueprints.
- Proficient at soldering delicate wires and electronic circuitry components.
- Knowledge and ability to work with hands.
- Knowledge of methods, materials, tools, and practices used in the field.
- Knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of the trades involved.
- Skilled in the care and use of the tools and equipment in the trades involved.
- Ability to understand verbal and written descriptions of technical work-related problems (i.e. drawings, floor plans, etc.)
- Knowledge of surface peculiarities and types of preparations required for different applications.
- Proficient in computer programs as required for job requirements.
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
