The Program Manager is responsible for the overall management, operations, and activities of the Chemical Management Services Program located at a customer site.
The program summary includes: Management of customer account and site stakeholders. Chemical procurement & Supply – Ordering of Chemicals & Distribution. Inventory Management - Inventory and chemical replenishment. Shelf-Life Management - Provide Shelf Life status reports/alerts. Receiving & stocking of chemical areas. Management of the Tier II Supply Chain. Hazardous Material Review Process - for new & alternate chemicals. Point of Use Delivery (including Coordination of returnable containers for pick-up) Health, Safety, and Environmental Support Waste management and related activities. Waste minimization & recycling. Coordination of the Material Safety Data (SDS) management Reporting
Responsibilities / Duties:
- Oversee the Chemical Management Services (CMS) Program
- Act as liaison between the plant and ChemicoMays to identify / resolve perceived customer problems
- Oversee purchasing and inventory management activities to ensure on-time delivery of products & meet daily customer demands
- Manage stocking and onsite point-of-use delivery activities
- Oversee waste management activities including inspections, waste consolidation, sorting, and destruction services
- Provide technical guidance / support and project management
- Ensuring correct chemicals / amounts are approved, received & used throughout facility
- Ensure compliance with all prevailing rules & regulations, as well as all customer Policies & Procedures
- Participate and / or leads meetings with plant & chemical management personnel
- Oversee and track all projects and reports against savings requirements
- Troubleshoot problems, initiate solutions and track resolutions of fluid management issues
- Communicate program progress and prioritize tasks
- Oversee purchasing and billing responsibilities at the site level
- Performs other duties as requested
- Ensure that all aspects of Program SOW for that plant are met
- Develop standard reporting systems for the customer
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Provide outstanding customer service & identify the unique needs of each customer
- Maintain positive relationships with suppliers, management & company personnel
- Demonstrates excellent problem identification/resolution skills
- Displays awareness / commitment to process improvements and impact of costs on customers
- Possesses strong oral/written/interpersonal communication skills
- Manage workload within conflicting operational demands & tight timeline constraints
- Possesses strong analytical abilities, attention to detail, and orderly work habits
- Familiar with working is ERP systems. Experience with SAGE products is a plus
- Ability to create spreadsheets/documents/graphs/compose reports & presentations
- Demonstrate confidence, self-motivation, great initiative and insight to grow business
- Occasional travel may be required
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering and/or Chemistry/Biology/Biochemistry
- Minimum of 3-5 years of previous experience in industrial manufacturing environments
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering and/or Chemistry/Biology/Biochemistry and/or equivalent experience.
- Recommended minimum of 2-4 years of previous experience in chemical management.
- Recommended minimum 2 years’ experience in contract construction, negotiation, and application.
Work Environment:
Ability to handle multiple priorities and demands in a fast-paced environment. This job operates in a manufacturing environment. This role requires presence on the manufacturing floor and a significant amount of walking on concrete surfaces. This role also routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers and filing cabinets. Ability to work in team fostered environment. Ability to work in multi-tasked environment. Strong personality and focus in fast-paced and demanding environments. Ability to adapt to change quickly and multi-task.
