This is a full-time position providing support to the National Testing Network (NTN) activities (CPAT, ORPAT) based at the Brooks Regional Training Center (BRTC). In addition to NTN support, the position provides assistance and logistical support to the EMS program–primarily in the educational lab setting. The Brooks Center is the emergency services campus of Chemeketa Community College. Brooks is an exciting and fast paced environment—come help us prepare the next generations of first responders!

NTN Test Proctoring

  • Functions as the lead proctor in administration of NTN testing services

  • Develops monthly testing schedule

  • Schedules proctors efficiently

  • Trains new proctors

  • Communicates with National Testing Network as needed

  • Reports testing results

  • Schedules classroom rentals for external agencies

  • Ensures completion of facility use agreements for all external agencies

  • Process paperwork and facility invoicing process through Business Services


EMS Lab Support

  • Assists with the EMS lab supplies and logistics

  • Under the direction of faculty, provides staffing support in EMS labs an average of 10 hours/week

  • Supports the collection, storage and retention of files related classes and state/national accreditation requirements

  • Manages the Brooks Center areas for student access

  • Works with information sharing to all staff and students through bulletin board management

  • Performs all EMS floor logistics, including errands, material transport, and outreach to locations

  • Flyer management for the EMS classes

  • Special event organization and assistance for Brooks/EMS

  • Assists with outreach and marketing activities as needed


Support Criminal Justice, EMS, Fire Suppression and Diesel Technology 

  • Functions as additional support for academic programming offered in Building 2

  • Provides front line support for inquiries from students and the general public

  • Provides administrative support related to course scheduling, Banner input, and human resource related processes


Other Functions

  • Maintains required state and national professional credentials and completes related continuing education for credentials

  • Supports and participates in assigned outreach activities to promote the EMS program

  • Completes required college training (e.g. FERPA, ADA, Canvas, IT, etc.)

Minimum Qualifications:

This level requires an equivalency of two (2) years of full-time work that reflects the knowledge, skills and experience to perform the essential functions listed above.


This is typically achieved through an Associate’s Degree or two (2) years of full-time work experience which reflects the knowledge, skills and experience to perform the essential functions listed above.

EMT Licensure (or higher)


The college will review relevant education and experience as equivalent in most cases. Some experience cannot be exchanged for education and is noted above, if relevant.

SCHEDULE & MODALITY

Regular remote/hybrid work is not a feature of this position. At the supervisor's discretion, exemptions may be made for special projects or responsibilities requiring periodic needed focus time.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
  • This is a 100%, 12-month classified assignment at pay grade 12
  • This position has a 6-month probationary period
  • All positions at Chemeketa are required to be available for work onsite as requested by the college.
  • Requires flexible work schedule to meet program needs, which may include evenings and/or weekends
  • This position may require the use of your personal vehicle for transportation between campus locations
  • If requested, requires the provision of official transcripts upon hire
  • Must successfully pass a physical fitness and agility test
  • Employees must maintain Oregon or Washington residency as a condition of employment.
  • Successful applicants for designated positions must successfully pass a background inquiry, which may include criminal, driving, credit and full background checks. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS 

Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

PUBLIC SERVICE LOAN FORGIVENESS

Chemeketa Community College is considered a qualifying public employer for the purposes of the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program. Through the Public Service Loan Forgiveness program, full-time employees working at the College may qualify for forgiveness of the remaining balance on Direct Loans after 120 qualifying monthly payments under a qualifying repayment plan.
