JOB DESCRIPTION: Electrical Engineer I

POSITION SUMMARY
The Electrical Engineer I executes standard electrical and controls engineering work while keeping customer requirements in focus. This position processes customer orders, creates electrical/control packages, supports startup and debug activities, and interfaces with engineering, manufacturing, sales, service, process, and purchasing departments.
Key Responsibilities
- Process standard customer orders, including electrical schematics, control packages, bills of materials, PLC programs, HMI screens, and relay logic controls.
- Create and maintain electrical schematics, panel layouts, control documentation, and manuals.
- Develop and modify standard PLC and HMI programs using established Chemcut standards.
- Specify standard electrical components, sensors, drives, instrumentation, and control hardware.
- Startup and debug customer equipment on the production floor.
- Support manufacturing, field service, sales, process, and purchasing departments with electrical and controls questions.
- Provide electrical/control customer service support for standard equipment and routine issues.
- Support automation improvement projects and standard controls platform improvements.
- Participate in troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and corrective action activities.
- May require occasional travel and overtime.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- EE, EET, EMET, Automation, Mechatronics, or equivalent technical degree/experience.
- 0-3 years of electrical, controls, automation, or machine control design experience.
- Machine control design experience a plus.
- PLC and HMI experience preferred, including Studio 5000 Logix Designer and FactoryTalk.
- AutoCAD, Microsoft Word and Excel, AS/400 Database, and Infor/Syteline experience preferred.
- Must have good communication skills working in a team environment.
- Strong ability to work independently with minimal supervision on standard assignments.
Preferred Skills And Abilities

Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds at times.
- Must be able to access all areas of the facility, including production areas, to determine needs and support equipment startup/debug activities.
- May require travel up to 5-10%.
- May require occasional overtime based on project or customer needs.
