The First Branch Unified District, serving the communities of Chelsea and Tunbridge, Vermont, is seeking an enthusiastic, student-centered Science Teacher to join our middle school team for the 2026-2027 school year. This full-time position is based at our Chelsea Campus and serves students in grades 6-8.
We are looking for an educator who is passionate about science, inquiry-based learning, and helping adolescents develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills. The ideal candidate creates engaging learning experiences that encourage curiosity, hands-on exploration, and meaningful connections between science and the world around us. Our science program is aligned with the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) and emphasizes scientific inquiry, engineering design, and real-world application of scientific concepts.
Qualifications:
Vermont teaching license in or eligibility for Vermont licensure.
Endorsement in Science or a relevant content area preferred.
Strong classroom management and relationship-building skills.
Knowledge of middle school development and best instructional practices.
Understanding of and experience implementing Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) through inquiry-based, student-centered instruction.
Commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
Experience integrating technology, laboratory investigations, and real-world applications into instruction is preferred.
