About the Opportunity
Chelsea Piers is seeking to hire a full-time Assistant Preschool Teacher to join our CP Kids Early Learning Center team. In this role, you will be responsible overseeing the safety and well-being of our daycare students from 3 to 5 years old. You will work closely with other teachers to develop and plan age-appropriate lessons and play with the children. Candidates will have some experience working with toddlers. This is an exciting role that will give you the chance to be creative and make a positive impact on the youngest members of the Chelsea Piers Community.
Compensation: $18 - $19 per hour, depending on experience
Schedule: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, CP Kids hours are 7:30 AM - 6:00 PM, schedule will vary within this time frame
Primary Responsibilities
- Create and implement a dynamic, creative, age-appropriate curriculum
- Interact with children and engage in developmentally appropriate play and activities all day
- Engage in on-going communication with parents about each child’s development via verbal and written communication
- Create and implement structured gross motor activities each day
- Plan and schedule the daily classroom activities
- Work and collaborate within a team
- Minimum 1 year of experience as an assistant teacher in an early childhood setting or similar role
- Experience working with children ages 1–3 years old
- Patient, kind, and caring with a nurturing demeanor
- Creative and adaptable within the CP Kids Early Learning structure
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skill
