The District reserves the right to change this vacancy or not fill this vacancy based on further staffing changes, enrollment, or budget.Position: Middle School ParaeducatorLocation: McCarthy Middle SchoolDescription: Work with Middle School children, both in general education classrooms and the special education classrooms to support students academically, socially, emotionally, and/or physically. QUALIFICATIONS: * Associates Degree, two years of college or passing the para test.* Knowledge and understanding of various disabilities.* Knowledge of school classroom procedure, including preparation and maintenance of records.* Knowledge of special education procedures and IEPs* Provide support (accommodations & modifications) to students with academic tasks.* Knowledge of school classroom procedure, including preparation and maintenance of records.* Support students with social, communication and/or ADL skills including assisting with toileting as needed. * Demonstrated aptitude or competence for assigned responsibilities at the Middle School level.* Experience working with age-appropriate students in a school setting.* Such alternatives to the above qualifications as may be found appropriate and acceptable by the principal, special education coordinator, and Director of Student Services.* Successful candidate will have a positive attitude and must work well as a member of a team.* Ability to build relationships with students and colleagues and provide ongoing support and direction to students.* Ability to work as a team and collaborate.
