TITLE: Nutrition Team Leader
REPORTS TO: Director of School Nutrition
Performance Responsibilities
- Responsible for overseeing operations, including preparing and cooking foods according to established recipes.
- Assist in the supervision and training of cafeteria staff.
- Organize daily work schedules and assign tasks to ensure timely food preparation and service.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local food safety regulations and school district guidelines.
- Monitor food portioning, presentation, and quality for consistency and adherence to menu plans.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen areas, equipment, and utensils.
- Communicate effectively with staff, students and Food Service Director.
- Assist in inventory management, including ordering, receiving, and storage of food and supplies.
- Handle minor performance issues under the direction of the Food Service Director. Report any grievances to the Food Service Director.
- Prepare production logs, and ensure accurate recordkeeping.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Food Service Director.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum 1-2 years experience in foodservice; supervisory or lead experience preferred.
- Knowledge of USDA school meal regulations and food safety standards (e.g., HACCP).
- ServSafe certification (or ability to obtain within 6 months).
- Strong communication and organization skills.
- Positive attitude and commitment to team collaboration.
