We are looking for a highly experienced and talented Head Pastry Chef to manage and lead our pastry department. This position offers the opportunity to craft beautiful desserts, oversee pastry production and its team, and collaborate with kitchen staff on seasonal menu changes. As the Head Pastry Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing the pastry department's overall production, rotational pastry menu changes, staff's schedules, maintaining the proper standards of food safety and quality, decorating cakes/custom cake orders, inventory of department, and the overall management of the pastry department.
Responsibilities
- Lead the pastry team in preparing, baking, decorating, and presenting a diverse range of desserts and baked goods with elegance and consistency.
- Oversee all aspects of food production related to pastries, including ingredient selection, portioning, and presentation standards.
- Develop new recipes and refine existing ones to keep our menu exciting and aligned with current pastry trends.
- Ensure all food handling and safety protocols are strictly followed to maintain a hygienic kitchen environment.
- Train team members in cake decorating techniques, knife skills, food preparation methods, and proper food safety procedures.
- Manage inventory control, ordering supplies, and maintaining optimal stock levels for pastry ingredients.
Experience
- Extensive pastry ad baking experience in pastry arts, including cake decorating, baking, and food preparation within a professional kitchen environment.
- Proven leadership skills as a Head Pastry Chef or senior pastry chef in a restaurant or bakery setting.
- Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in food handling and hygiene.
- Experience working in fast-paced environments where attention to detail and quality control are essential.
- Familiarity with kitchen equipment operation and maintenance specific to pastry production.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining high standards of excellence.
