Chef Matt’s Culinary Creations is seeking a reliable, skilled, and professional Assistant Personal Chef to support our team with in-home meal preparation, private dinner parties, weekly meal-prep services, cooking experiences, and special events.
This is a hands-on culinary role for someone who is comfortable working in clients’ homes, following customized menus, maintaining exceptional cleanliness, and delivering a polished personal-chef experience.
The Assistant Personal Chef will work alongside a Lead Personal Chef or independently on assigned preparation tasks. Responsibilities may include grocery organization, ingredient preparation, cooking, portioning, plating, packaging, kitchen cleanup, and assisting with event service.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Lead Personal Chef with in-home meal preparation, private dinners, and catered events
- Prepare and cook customized meals according to recipes, client preferences, dietary restrictions, and service notes
- Support weekly meal-prep clients by cooking, portioning, labeling, packaging, and properly storing meals
- Assist with plated dinners, family-style service, brunches, cocktail parties, cooking classes, and special events
- Organize groceries, ingredients, cookware, equipment, and serving pieces before and during service
- Maintain excellent food quality, portion consistency, timing, and presentation
- Follow all food-safety, sanitation, allergen, storage, labeling, and temperature-control procedures
- Keep workspaces clean and organized throughout preparation and service
- Wash dishes, sanitize surfaces, remove trash, and leave each client’s kitchen in excellent condition
- Assist with loading, unloading, setup, breakdown, and transportation of culinary supplies and equipment
- Communicate professionally with clients, chefs, event staff, and administrative team members
- Report missing ingredients, equipment concerns, timing issues, or client requests promptly
- Follow company recipes, event timelines, client notes, and execution instructions accurately
- Represent Chef Matt’s Culinary Creations with professionalism, discretion, and respect inside every client’s home
Qualifications
- Professional cooking experience in personal-chef services, restaurants, catering, meal preparation, banquets, or hospitality
- Strong knife skills and knowledge of basic professional cooking techniques
- Experience preparing meals for dietary restrictions, allergies, or customized preferences is preferred
- Understanding of food safety, sanitation, cross-contamination prevention, and allergen awareness
- Ability to follow recipes, prep lists, timelines, and detailed instructions
- Strong organization, time management, and multitasking skills
- Ability to work efficiently in different home kitchens and unfamiliar environments
- Professional appearance, communication, and client-service skills
- Willingness to assist with cooking, dishes, cleaning, setup, breakdown, and transportation
- Ability to lift and carry groceries, cookware, equipment, and event supplies
- Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to client homes and event locations
- Availability during weekdays, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Food-safety certification is preferred
- Culinary education is preferred but not required with sufficient professional experience
