Job Summary
The Kitchen Operations Associate is responsible for supporting daily food production, portioning, packaging, and quality control within a high-volume commercial kitchen environment. This role ensures meals are prepared accurately, safely, and efficiently while maintaining strict compliance with food safety protocols and operational standards.
Team members report directly to the Kitchen Supervisor and must work well under pressure, maintain a clean and organized workflow, and uphold Chef Gourmet’s quality expectations.
Responsibilities
- Execute daily food preparation, portioning, and packaging according to established recipes and production sheets.
- Maintain accurate pars, track overages, and report discrepancies to the Kitchen Supervisor.
- Verify product quality, freshness, and temperature logs throughout shift.
- Ensure all ingredients, supplies, and Cambros are prepared, labeled, and approved before leaving HQ.
- Support the staging, assembly, and loading of meals for outgoing routes.
- Follow all food handling, sanitation, and time-control standards in compliance with county health regulations.
- Maintain a clean workstation, including equipment, prep tables, and storage areas.
- Communicate any shortages, equipment issues, or safety concerns immediately.
- Work efficiently to meet daily production timelines and operational deadlines.
- Represent Chef Gourmet with professionalism, reliability, and teamwork at all times.
Requirements
- Must be 18 years old.
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 30 lbs repeatedly.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to food safety.
- Punctual, organized, and dependable.
- Ability to follow recipes, portioning standards, and written/supervised instructions.
- Comfortable using kitchen tools, scales, thermometers, Cambros, and labeling systems.
- Must follow all company uniform, PPE, and hygiene policies.
- Must have or be willing to obtain a San Bernardino County Food Handler Card.
- Experience in kitchen prep, line work, catering, hospitality, or food production is nice but not necessary!

Pay: $16.50 - $20.00 per hour
