POSTED ON 7/27/2026
AVAILABLE BEFORE 11/24/2026

Fine Gardening Team Member

Since 2012, Round Hill Noho has been dedicated to designing, installing, restoring, and caring for beautiful landscapes. Our team maintains, enhances, and beautifies the historic Round Hill campus, including the grounds of Checkwriters headquarters and surrounding residential properties.

We are currently seeking committed, conscientious, and detail-oriented Fine Gardening Team Members to join our team on a full-time, year-round, basis.

This position is ideal for someone who loves working outdoors, takes pride and ownership in their work, and appreciates the craftsmanship and attention to detail required to care for thoughtfully designed landscapes.

Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with our grounds team to maintain, enhance, and beautify fine gardens, historic grounds, and residential landscapes.
  • Provide thoughtful, hands-on care for perennial gardens, shrubs, trees, ornamental plantings, lawns, and other landscape features.
  • Assist with planting, pruning, weeding, edging, mulching, dividing perennials, deadheading, watering, seasonal cleanup, and ongoing garden care.
  • Monitor the health and appearance of plants and identify areas that require additional attention.
  • Maintain garden beds and landscaped spaces to a high standard of cleanliness, presentation, and horticultural care.
  • Assist with landscape installations, renovations, grading, soil preparation, and seasonal projects.
  • Support hardscape projects, including lifting, carrying, preparing materials, and laying pavers with care and precision.
  • Keep gardens, walkways, entrances, patios, and other outdoor spaces clean and free of plant debris.
  • Help curate outdoor spaces through thoughtful plant care, placement, presentation, and attention to how individual landscape elements work together.
  • Identify opportunities to improve, enhance, and beautify the landscapes under our care.
  • Properly maintain, clean, organize, and store landscape tools and equipment.
  • Perform additional property and grounds maintenance as needed.

What We’re Looking For

  • A conscientious individual who takes genuine pride and ownership in their work.
  • An appreciation for fine gardening, beautiful landscapes, historic properties, and thoughtful design.
  • A strong work ethic, professionalism, dependability, and excellent time-management skills.
  • An artistic eye and the ability to recognize proportion, balance, presentation, and opportunities to improve a landscape.
  • Strong attention to detail and a willingness to complete work thoroughly and to a high standard.
  • A love of working outdoors and a commitment to ensuring plants and landscapes are properly cared for.
  • The initiative to notice what needs to be done without always waiting for direction.
  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently while contributing positively to a team.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including rain, heat, and cold.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting, carrying, bending, kneeling, and prolonged standing.
  • Previous experience in fine gardening, horticulture, landscaping, estate gardening, landscape installation, or construction is preferred.
  • Experience operating landscape maintenance equipment is preferred.
  • DOT physical or the ability to obtain one is preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are required.

The Ideal Candidate

  • You care about the difference between simply maintaining a property and truly caring for a landscape.
  • You notice the details—an improperly pruned shrub, an untidy garden edge, a plant that is struggling, or an area that could be made more beautiful.
  • You take pride in leaving every space better than you found it and understand that exceptional landscapes are created through consistent care, craftsmanship, and attention to detail.
  • You enjoy being part of a team that takes ownership of its work and shares a commitment to the long-term beauty and stewardship of Round Hill.
