Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing HVAC systems across various property types. This role requires strong mechanical knowledge, experience with refrigeration and plumbing, and the ability to interpret schematics and HVAC design plans. The technician will perform field service tasks, troubleshoot equipment issues, and ensure optimal operation of heating and cooling systems. A valid driver’s license is required for this position. Duties
- Install, service, and repair HVAC systems including air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration systems, and ammonia refrigeration equipment.
- Read and interpret schematics, HVAC design plans, and technical manuals to diagnose issues accurately.
- Perform maintenance tasks such as cleaning, lubricating, and calibrating HVAC equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Troubleshoot electrical components using tools like ohmmeters and conduct equipment repairs or replacements as needed.
- Conduct plumbing work related to HVAC systems including pipe fitting and leak repairs.
- Utilize welding skills for system fabrication or repair when necessary.
- Diagnose mechanical failures in HVAC/R equipment and perform necessary repairs or replacements.
- Assist with property maintenance tasks related to HVAC systems to ensure safety and compliance with regulations.
- Operate field service vehicles safely while transporting tools and equipment to job sites.
- Document work performed accurately in service reports and communicate effectively with clients regarding system status or repair needs.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Service Technician in HVAC/R or related mechanical fields.
- Construction background or property maintenance experience is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with schematics, HVAC design principles, and refrigeration systems including ammonia refrigeration is preferred.
- Mechanical knowledge of appliances, boilers, air conditioning units, and equipment repair techniques.
- Experience with plumbing, welding, boiler operation, and general maintenance tasks is advantageous.
- Hands-on experience using diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters for electrical troubleshooting.
- Prior field service experience involving appliance repair or property maintenance is a plus.
