Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary CSR in Urgent Care and Emergency Department to join our team. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for pet owners and their beloved animals, providing exceptional customer service while ensuring a smooth operation within our veterinary practice. You would work 4-10 hour shifts and will be working nights Thursday - Sunday each week and would work the hours between 6:00 pm until 4:00 am. Your knowledge of veterinary terminology and animal care will be essential in assisting clients and supporting our veterinary staff. Must have a sense of urgency and be able to work in a fast paced environment and be able to multi-task at all times.
Responsibilities
- Greet clients and their pets warmly upon arrival, creating a welcoming atmosphere.
- Answer multiple phone calls and respond to inquiries regarding services, procedures, and pet care.
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure all documentation is up to date.
- Process payments and handle billing inquiries with professionalism.
- Assist in managing the flow of patients within the clinic, ensuring timely service.
- Provide basic information on pet care, including vaccination schedules and nutrition advice.
- Support veterinary staff with animal handling, restraint, and preparation for examinations.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the reception area and waiting room.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a receptionist in a veterinary or animal-related field is preferred.
- Familiarity with veterinary terminology is highly desirable.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact positively with clients and their pets.
- Knowledge of animal handling techniques, including restraint methods for various species.
- Experience in kennel management or pet grooming is a plus.
- Basic understanding of aseptic techniques related to veterinary practices is beneficial.
- A passion for animal welfare and commitment to providing excellent customer service.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Must have a sense of urgency.
