Landscaper/Groundskeeper

Job Summary
Join our dynamic team as a Landscaper/Groundskeeper and play a vital role in maintaining and enhancing outdoor spaces. This energetic position involves performing a wide range of landscaping, lawn care, and grounds maintenance tasks to keep properties beautiful, safe, and inviting. You will work with various tools and equipment, including hand tools, power tools, and heavy machinery like excavators, to deliver top-quality landscape care. Your efforts will directly contribute to creating welcoming environments for clients, residents, or visitors while ensuring safety and aesthetic appeal.

Responsibilities

• Perform lawn care activities such as mowing, edging, fertilizing, aerating, and weed control to maintain lush, healthy turf.
• Conduct landscape maintenance tasks including planting, pruning, tree trimming, shrubbery care, and flower bed upkeep.
• Operate hand tools and power tools safely for tasks like edging, trimming, planting, and installing landscape features.
• Use heavy machinery such as excavators for site preparation, hardscape installation, or drainage work.
• Maintain irrigation systems by inspecting for leaks or malfunctions and making necessary repairs to ensure proper watering schedules.
• Carry out snow plowing and snow removal during winter months to keep pathways clear and safe for pedestrians and vehicles.
• Assist with construction projects involving hardscape features like patios, walkways, retaining walls, or fencing to enhance outdoor aesthetics.
• Perform routine landscape inspections to identify issues related to horticulture health or safety hazards and address them promptly.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated mechanical knowledge with experience operating landscaping equipment and power tools.
• Strong lawn care skills including mowing, fertilizing, aeration, and weed control techniques.
• Knowledge of landscape maintenance practices such as pruning, planting, tree care (including trimming), and gardening fundamentals.
• Familiarity with irrigation systems installation and repair is preferred.
• Ability to operate heavy machinery like excavators safely and effectively in construction or hardscape projects.
• Experience with snow plowing operations during winter seasons is a plus.
• Basic understanding of horticulture principles to promote healthy plant growth and landscape design.
• Excellent hand tool skills for precise trimming, planting, or installation tasks.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $23.62 - $28.45 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 20 per week
