About the Position
Chaves Electrical Services LLC is looking for an experienced and motivated Electrical Apprentice to join our growing team.
We are a locally owned and operated electrical contracting company serving residential and light commercial customers throughout Cape Cod and the surrounding areas. We are looking for someone who has a solid foundation in the electrical trade, takes pride in their work, and is interested in continuing to develop their skills and career.
The ideal candidate will be dependable, hardworking, safety-conscious, and comfortable working alongside a licensed electrician in a variety of residential and light commercial environments.
Responsibilities
- Assist licensed electricians with residential and light commercial electrical installations, repairs, and service work
- Install electrical wiring, devices, fixtures, panels, and equipment under the direction of a licensed electrician
- Run and support installation of conduit, cable, and raceways
- Pull and terminate wire and cable
- Install receptacles, switches, lighting, GFCI/AFCI devices, and other electrical equipment
- Assist with electrical service upgrades, panel installations, generator installations, and other electrical projects
- Read and understand basic electrical plans, diagrams, and specifications
- Assist with troubleshooting and diagnosing electrical problems
- Properly use hand tools, power tools, and electrical testing equipment
- Follow the Massachusetts Electrical Code and all applicable safety requirements
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site
- Communicate professionally with customers and coworkers
- Represent Chaves Electrical Services in a professional manner
- Perform other duties related to electrical work as assigned
Qualifications
- 2 years of electrical field experience preferred
- Currently enrolled in or eligible for a Massachusetts electrical apprenticeship program
- Solid understanding of basic electrical theory and residential electrical systems
- Experience with residential electrical installation and service work
- Ability to safely use common electrical hand and power tools
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively alongside a licensed electrician
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license
- Reliable, punctual, and dependable
- Professional appearance and attitude
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to learn and take direction
