The Nursing Faculty – BSN Program provides high-quality, student-centered online instruction to pre-licensure and RN-to-BSN nursing students to support academic success, engagement, and program completion. This includes responsibilities such as delivering didactic content, facilitating online learning activities, assessing student performance, and providing individualized feedback and support. Ideal candidates must have excellent interpersonal, communication, problem-solving, and listening skills. Candidates must be able to adapt to a fast-paced academic environment and manage multiple priorities and changing assignments.
This is an instructional position supporting the Division of Nursing. This role requires considerable interaction with students, faculty, and academic leadership through virtual meetings, online discussions, and electronic communication. Nursing Faculty are expected to possess extensive knowledge of nursing practice, curriculum standards, online pedagogy, and accreditation expectations. They must be able to interpret individual learning needs, provide personalized academic support, and work effectively with students who may be confused, stressed, or demanding.
Employees in this role can expect to support students regarding course expectations, academic progress, and professional development, assist with decision-making related to academic success, and help guide learners toward successful outcomes. This position requires maintaining confidentiality and accurate academic records to ensure compliance with accreditation standards, institutional policies, and federal regulations (e.g., FERPA). The role may also support institutional activities such as orientation, assessment initiatives, and program improvement efforts. A strong commitment to equity, access, and success for diverse and at-risk student populations is essential.

Responsibilities
- Provides online didactic instruction and academic support to a diverse population of nursing students, including regular contact regarding progress and performance.
- Facilitates asynchronous BSN courses in alignment with course objectives, program outcomes, and accreditation standards.
- Implements instructional strategies that support student engagement, retention, and completion.
- Provides timely, constructive feedback on assignments, discussions, and examinations.
- Utilizes the institution’s learning management system to manage course materials, assessments, and grades.
- Maintains availability through virtual office hours, email, and other approved communication platforms.
- Completes required professional development and training annually.
- Supports Division of Nursing initiatives and program assessment activities.
- Maintains accurate documentation and academic records in compliance with institutional, accreditation, and federal requirements.
- Collaborates with course coordinators, full-time faculty, and program leadership to ensure consistency and quality across course sections.
- Provides appropriate referrals for academic or personal concerns that may impair student success.
- Upholds confidentiality and complies with institutional policies, accreditation standards, and federal regulations.
- Maintains instructional tools, systems, and resources necessary to effectively perform job duties.
- Remains current on relevant nursing education standards, online teaching best practices, and emerging trends.
- Collaborates with the BSN Program Director and Dean of Nursing.

- Education or Training:
- Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited institution (required)
- Graduate degree in nursing or education (MSN, DNP, PhD, EdD) preferred.
- Experience:
- Minimum of four (4) years of recent clinical nursing experience preferred
- Experience teaching in an online environment or completion of online teaching certification/training preferred
- Experience teaching in a BSN or RN-to-BSN program preferred
- Familiarity with CCNE accreditation standards and the AACN Essentials preferred
- Online simulation or virtual clinical platform experience preferred
- Unencumbered, active U.S. RN license (licensure in the state of program delivery may be required)
- Proficiency with learning management systems
- Position is hybrid and will require being on campus for labs, skills days, and HESI testing
- Reliable internet access and a secure, quiet remote work environment when working off campus
- Flexible schedule, including potential evening or weekend grading or communication responsibilities
