What are the responsibilities and job description for the Summer Camp Counselor position at Chattanooga Christian School and Careers?
PURPOSE/FUNCTION:
Chattanooga Christian School is looking for energetic, enthusiastic, and attentive individuals to work in its Summer Camp Program. This is a temporary position tentatively scheduled to begin May 26, 2026 and will work up to 40 hours per week. Summer Camp Counselors are responsible for the care, safety, and well-being of children attending summer camp and will supervise and be actively engaged with campers daily.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist children in a variety of settings and capacities, which may include but is not limited to, snack time, crafts or play time (both indoors and outdoors).
Respond professionally and positively to different situations and circumstances as they arise.
Recognize needs of children at different stages of development.
Supervise children at all times, ensuring their well-being and safety.
Treat all children with dignity and respect.
Make sure staff and children leave the location clean and tidy each day.
Ensure that all children are signed in and out by an authorized parent or nominated person.
Other job duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Faith in Jesus Christ and a commitment to the mission of Chattanooga Christian School.
Prior experience working with elementary-aged children preferred.
Prior experience working in a summer camp setting preferred.

Requires the mobility to stand, stoop, reach and bend.

Requires vision to read small print.
