Position Overview
The archery specialist co-leads the safe implementation of the archery program for rising 4th-7th grade campers at Camp Kingfisher.
All staff at Camp Kingfisher are hired to:

- provide campers with fun, positive outdoor learning experiences
- help campers grow and learn through challenges
Essential Functions
- Develop and lead archery curriculum for 4th -7th grade campers with excellence and enthusiasm
- Interact and develop relationships with campers
- Maintain high standards of health and safety in all activities for campers and staff
- Attend weekly camp staff meetings and specialist meetings
- Assist in other program areas as a substitute counselor as needed: waterfront, pool, all camp activities, and arts and crafts as directed
- Complete additional duties as assigned
- Contribute to verbal/written evaluations and communication as requested
- Keep track of and recording hours worked, requesting director’s approval for any additional hours prior to work
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Willingness to work outdoors during the summer season
- Must be able to lift over 20 pounds
- Valid driver’s license or state issued ID
Skills
- Interest and experience (preferred) in the sport of archery
- Experience (and passion for) teaching or working with children
- Current archery safety and teaching training, course provided
- Current First Aid/CPR certification, course provided
- Background in environmental education, natural history, education, childcare, or camps
