What are the responsibilities and job description for the HVAC Preventive Maintenance Mechanic position at Chatham County Government?
Chatham County Facilities Maintenance has an opening for an HVAC Preventive Maintenance Mechanic. We encourage you to apply if you have your HVAC certification and three (3) years of experience.
Under general direction, you
- Install, repair, and replace various heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems, equipment, and related components.
- Observe the installed systems and equipment operation to detect hazards and identify the need for adjustment or replacement.
- Perform all work activities according to specifications, including the maintenance of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems.
- Check the temperature on HVAC units and maintain HVAC systems.
- Provide cost estimates for work, materials, and supplies associated with heating, ventilation, and air conditioning maintenance and repair projects.
- May serve as a team leader.
- Must be available for emergency/urgent recall after regular working hours and 24 hours on weekends and holidays.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Certification from a vocational school or state certification training in Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning, and
- At least three (3) years of experience in heating, ventilation, and air conditioning installation, repair, and maintenance or a closely related field; or
- any equivalent combination of training and experience.
- You must provide and wear protective footwear during working hours.
- You must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.
