Key Responsibilities
- Market Mapping & Target Identification: Define and maintain target acquisition criteria. Build comprehensive market maps. Identify off-market opportunities through bid and permit databases, supplier networks, industry directories, and business listings.
- AI-Enhanced Lead Generation & Data Enrichment: Use AI-powered tools to identify, qualify, and enrich acquisition targets. Leverage platforms like ChatGPT, Clay, Apollo, ZoomInfo, Crunchbase, and LinkedIn Sales Navigator. Automate data collection via Zapier, PhantomBuster, and TexAu. Develop detailed company profiles.
- Outreach & Early Engagement: Conduct professional and discreet outreach to company owners and executives. Initiate discussions to confirm interest and alignment. Coordinate NDA execution. Maintain a relationship-focused, ethical approach.
- Collaboration & Handoff to Execution Team: Partner with the M&A Execution team. Deliver diligence-ready company summaries. Support documentation flow, milestone tracking, and due diligence preparation.
- Pipeline Tracking, Management & Reporting: Maintain an accurate M&A sourcing pipeline in CRM platforms. Develop AI-assisted dashboards. Generate weekly and monthly reports. Identify insights and improvements to enhance sourcing productivity.
- Volume and quality of acquisition targets sourced monthly.
- Outreach-to-NDA conversion rate.
- Accuracy and completeness of CRM data.
- Timeliness and quality of handoffs to the Execution team.
- Proactive collaboration and reporting excellence.
- Advanced use of AI-driven search tools (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Bing Copilot).
- Proficiency with data sourcing platforms (PitchBook, Apollo, ZoomInfo, Clay, Crunchbase, LinkedIn Sales Navigator).
- CRM expertise (HubSpot, Affinity, Salesforce) and automated workflow design.
- Strong analytical and reporting skills using Excel, Power BI, or equivalent tools.
- Familiarity with automation tools (Zapier, TexAu, PhantomBuster, Clearbit).
- Exceptional organization, detail orientation, and communication skills.
- Relationship-oriented with the ability to engage founders and executives professionally.
- Collaborative team player bridging sourcing, analytics, and execution.
- 2 years of experience in M&A sourcing, lead generation, or business development (3–5 years preferred).
- Proven cold-calling and outreach success initiating first-contact discussions.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or related field preferred.
- Experience in construction, industrial services, or facility management highly desired.
- Demonstrated ability to identify and qualify privately held businesses.
- Occasional travel required for in-person meetings and strategy sessions.
