Design and evaluate complex electrical engineering problems for frontier AI models, using simulation tools and Python to test and improve AI performance. This is a project-based role for deep technical problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities
- Select appropriate electrical engineering simulation packages (e.g., ngspice, scikit-rf, python-control, pandapower) and create problems that require these tools.
- Develop complete Python solutions with necessary netlist files and circuit definitions.
- Set correct numerical output and define acceptance tolerances.
- Run problems against AI models across multiple attempts, analyzing success/failure rates (target: 10-30% pass rate).
- Iteratively tune circuit topologies, operating conditions, and solver parameters.
- Hand off tasks to senior reviewer and refine based on feedback.
- Academic background in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- At least 2 years of hands-on experience in engineering research, applied work, or teaching.
- Solid Python skills for writing and validating computational solutions.
- Ability to build problems requiring specialized simulation software.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
- Ability to work independently in a remote, fast-paced environment.
- Working knowledge of ngspice, scikit-rf, python-control, pandapower, PyPSA, or similar tools.
- Prior exposure to how frontier AI models handle complex simulation tasks.
- Knowledge spanning multiple engineering domains (circuit analysis, control systems, power systems).
- Familiarity with containerized or sandboxed Linux execution environments.
