Work Arrangement: Hybrid (Tuesday–Thursday On-site, Monday & Friday Remote)

About The Role

Join the AI Products group at Red Ventures Home to lead a high-impact team of data scientists. You will serve as a "player-coach," architecting and building software products powered by machine learning, generative AI, and agentic AI systems. The role focuses on creating 1:1 personalized customer-facing products using large language models (LLMs) and autonomous agents to drive measurable growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Team Leadership: Lead a team of 3 data scientists, setting technical direction, managing performance, developing careers, and executing hiring.
• Technical Architecture: Architect end-to-end AI/ML and agentic solutions, author technical implementations, and review code.
• Product Development: Build and ship LLM-powered and agentic AI systems from prototype through deployment, monitoring, and iteration.
• Strategic Partnerships: Partner with Data Science Product Managers, Engineering, and Business leadership to align initiatives with organizational strategy.
• Problem Solving: Translate ambiguous business problems into well-scoped data science solutions, including effort estimation and delivery planning.
• Technical Decision Making: Own decisions regarding model/agent architecture, tooling, observability, and evaluation strategies.
• Metrics & Culture: Drive a culture of experimentation by defining success metrics and tracking impact over time.
• Stakeholder Management: Represent data science in cross-functional discussions and present solutions to external stakeholders.
  
  

Qualifications

Education & Experience

• Bachelor's Degree 8 years of experience, OR
• Master's Degree 6 years of experience, OR
• PhD 4 years of experience.
  
  

Technical Skills

• AI/ML: Proven track record of delivering production data science solutions using ML and/or generative AI.
• Agentic Systems: Hands-on experience building LLM-based and agentic AI systems using frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, Mastra, or OpenAI Agents SDK.
• AI Stack: Familiarity with LLM providers (OpenAI, Gemini, Claude) and cloud infrastructure (AWS Bedrock AgentCore).
• LLMOps/MLOps: Solid understanding of the ML/LLM lifecycle, including deployment, monitoring, and iteration. Experience with LangSmith, MLflow, or similar platforms is required.
  
  

Soft Skills

• Strong business acumen with the ability to translate open-ended problems into shipped ML solutions.
• Experience balancing technical depth with clear communication.
• Prior experience leading or mentoring data scientists while remaining technically engaged.
  
  

Compensation

Compensation & Benefits

Base Salary Range: $230,000 - $280,000 per year (Total Cash Compensation including bonus)

• Additional equity grant may be offered.
