Job Overview
Chasing Serenity Psychotherapy, PLLC is seeking a compassionate and culturally responsive Licensed Clinical Therapist (LMSW or LCSW) to join our growing mental health practice. The ideal candidate will have 3–5 years of clinical experience and demonstrate a strong commitment to serving BIPOC communities, including Black, Hispanic, Afro-Latino, and Indigenous clients. This role is ideal for a therapist who is passionate about evidence-based practice, trauma-informed care, and fostering emotional wellness through culturally attuned, client-centered treatment.
Responsibilities
- Provide individual psychotherapy using evidence-based modalities (CBT, DBT, ACT, Strength-Based Counseling).
- Tailor behavioral therapy interventions to meet the needs of diverse client populations.
- Offer crisis intervention and safety planning for clients in acute distress.
- Participate in case management and coordinate care with healthcare providers, psychiatrists, and community resources.
- (Optional) Facilitate group therapy sessions if experienced and comfortable.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation in accordance with state and insurance standards.
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of culturally informed, trauma-responsive care for BIPOC individuals.
Qualifications
- Active NJ LMSW or LCSW license (required).
- 3–5 years of experience providing therapy in outpatient, hospital, telehealth, or community settings.
- Experience working with Black, Hispanic, Afro-Latino, Afro-Caribbean, and/or Indigenous clients (children or adults).
- Strong clinical writing and documentation skills.
- Experience with family therapy, group therapy, or working in a group practice setting.
- Proven competency in crisis management and intervention strategies.
- Experience with clinical research, evidence-based practice models, or quality improvement initiatives is a plus.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment while maintaining professionalism and strong boundaries.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with diverse populations
