What are the responsibilities and job description for the KidsCo Director-Melissa Campus position at Chase Oaks Church?
JOB SUMMARY:
To provide oversight and leadership to the Melissa Campus KIDS CO. children’s ministry during an exciting and formative season of campus launch. Operating without a permanent facility, this role requires a creative, resourceful, and energetic leader who can build an excellent children’s ministry experience from the ground up—utilizing temporary venues, community spaces, and non-traditional environments to reach and disciple children and families. This is a part-time, 25-hours-per-week position.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide directional leadership in all elements of executing KIDS CO
- Build the Melissa Campus KIDS CO. ministry from the ground up, establishing culture, volunteer structures, safety protocols, and programming rhythms in a launch-phase environment
- Think outside the box to create engaging, safe, and excellent children’s ministry experiences without a permanent facility—creatively utilizing temporary spaces, portable resources, and flexible room configurations week to week
- Develop a volunteer organizational structure
- Recruit, train, and develop large and small-group leaders
- Coordinate and oversee the execution of the weekend ministry
- Build and oversee KIDS CO. First Impressions and Connections Teams
- Work with KIDS CO. and other campuses to develop and adapt programming that applies to the campus and stays within alignment with Chase Oaks Church’s overall strategy
- Work with KIDS CO. to plan and develop a training plan for leaders in their specific area of service
- Plan, submit, and implement a yearly budget
- Have a physical presence during weekend services to connect with volunteers, parents, and children
- Meet regularly with the Campus Pastor, KIDS CO. multi-campus team, staff, and volunteer teams for discussion, evaluation, coordination, and sharing of vision and needs of the Melissa Children’s Ministry
- Lead team meetings for discussion, evaluation, and sharing of vision and needs of the ministry
- Be an active participant in KIDS CO.-related activities

Qualifications:
SPECIFIC SKILLS / STRENGTHS
- Must have excellent communication / customer service skills and be able to interface with students, parents, the KIDS CO. team, and the Chase Oaks Church staff
- Must be able to effectively lead and train volunteers via up-front communication
- Requires the ability to compose culturally relevant, effective, and accurate communication and deal with non-routine matters such as special projects
- Must have strong organizational skills, with particular ability to manage logistics in a mobile, temporary venue context
- Must be a creative problem-solver—able to design excellent children’s experiences without relying on a permanent, dedicated space
- Must have a strong understanding of and commitment to children’s safety best practices, particularly in non-traditional environments
EXPERIENCE DESIRED
- Minimum 2 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
EDUCATION DESIRED
- Minimum of high school diploma or equivalence; college degree preferred
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
- This role has the potential to supervise the KIDS CO. Resident, as well as a core leadership team of volunteers
LANGUAGE SKILLS
- Ability to speak effectively and understandably on the phone
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to common inquiries regarding Chase Oaks ministries
- High attention to customer service
COMPUTER SKILLS
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Outlook calendaring, and email
- Basic knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint
- Experience in data entry and familiar with databases
