Job Title: Direct Support Training Specialist
Reports to: Executive Director, Assistant Director HR
Summary:
The Direct Support Training Specialist provides day-to-day support and guidance to individuals with diverse abilities in both center-based and community settings. This entry-level role focuses on helping individuals build independence, participate in community and vocational activities, and achieve personal goals in a safe, supportive, and respectful environment. The Training Specialist is also responsible for basic daily documentation and working collaboratively with team members and community partners.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Support individuals in daily activities, community outings, vocational tasks, and social opportunities.
· Follow each individual’s Person-Centered Plan (PCP) and assist with goals and support needs.
· Treat all individuals with dignity, respect, and compassion while encouraging independence and inclusion.
· Complete daily notes and other required documentation accurately and on time.
· Assist individuals with community participation, employment activities, and life skills development.
· Maintain open communication with coworkers, supervisors, families, and community partners as needed.
· Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and continuing education opportunities.
· Help maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
· Assist with basic program operations, including activity setup, attendance tracking, and scheduling support.
· Ensure company vehicles and work areas remain clean and safe.
· Provide transportation for individuals when required and approved.
· Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
· High school diploma or equivalent required;
· Experience working with individuals with disabilities or in a human services setting is helpful, but not required.
· Willingness to learn state regulations, company policies, and person-centered support practices.
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Skills and Abilities:
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
· Basic computer, math, and recordkeeping skills.
· Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
· Dependable, patient, and organized.
· Positive attitude and willingness to support others.
Certifications and Requirements:
· Current First Aid and CPR certification, or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
· Valid driver’s license and proof of auto insurance.
· Successful completion of background screening, fingerprint clearance, and DMV clearance.
Physical and Work Requirements:
· Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
· Ability to work in indoor and community-based environments with moderate noise levels.

Hourly Pay Rate: $17.00 - $19.00
